Court Summary - at a glance
- Ensure that employees use appropriate working at height equipment for the task of erecting steel purlins, in accordance with industry good practice and hierarchy of controls identified in the Act;
- Ensure all ladders are in safe working condition;
- Ensure the ladder is tied off; and
- Ensure the harness is suitable in respect of fall protection for the work being done.
As a result of the fall, the victim received two broken arms.
