Regulatory application of AS/NZS 4777

Validity of supplier declaration of conformity (SDoC)
Importers and suppliers have asked for clarification of the validity of a Supplier Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) made for compliance with Regulation 83 of the Electricity (Safety) Regulations 2010 when the relevant recognised Standard in Schedule 4 changes, or expires.

Energy Safety provides this guidance in response to health sector requests for clarification of the Electricity (Safety) Regulations regarding the requirements applying to the use of electrical medical equipment for treatment of patients in home environments, particularly (Type 1- not double insulated equipment used for renal peritoneal dialysis equipment and some respiratory humidifiers.

The motel and camping sector has asked for clarification around the provisions of Regulation 26 of the Electricity (Safety) Regulations (ESRs) as they apply to equipment located in motel units and cabins that are for the use of patrons but that may be used or serviced by staff and the use of electrical equipment by staff in motel units.
