WorkSafe New Zealand has granted an exemption (HS2506) to IXOM Operations Pty Ltd from compliance with regulation 12.16(1)(b) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 to meet the requirements for the secondary containment system capacity for class 5.1.1B substances held in containers in storage bunkers located at 135-147 Waterloo Road, Hornby, Christchurch.

WorkSafe New Zealand has granted an exemption (SEP2506) to Rockgas Limited from compliance with regulation 11.22(1) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to the reduced separation distance of a LPG cylinder filling station located at 56 Langley Road, Wiri, Auckland to the neighbouring protected places being the railway line on the eastern boundary and the building at 80 Langley Road, Wiri, Auckland.

WorkSafe has granted an exemption to Bob’s Gas 2018 Limited from compliance with Regulations 15.13, 15.16 and 15.17 of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.

WorkSafe New Zealand has granted an exemption (MHF2501) to Koppers Performance Chemicals New Zealand Limited from compliance with clause 19 of Schedule 7 of the Health and Safety at Work (Major Hazard Facilities) Regulations 2016 in so far as this clause requires a statement on a safety case to be signed by the most senior officer of the operator in New Zealand for the site located at 14 Mayo Road, Wiri, Auckland 2104.

WorkSafe New Zealand has granted an exemption (HS2403) to HWR Hydrogen Limited from compliance with 17.17(1)(a) and 17.17(4) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to their hydrogen storage located at 10 Lake Street in Clifton, Invercargill.

WorkSafe New Zealand has granted an exemption (SEP2404) to Flint Group NZ Limited from compliance with regulation 11.29(1) for their flammable liquids store [only in respect of the requirement for a building that is Type D storage specified in regulation 11.29(2)(d) to have a certain fire resistance rating for the building (as it applies to the walls, roof and doors)]​ of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to their flammable liquids store at 6 Burrett Avenue, Penrose, Auckland.

WorkSafe has amended exemption SEP2010 granted to Amcor Flexibles (New Zealand) Limited (Amcor) on 10 February 2023 in relation to compliance with regulation 11.36(2) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017.  This amendment (SEP2010A) concerns the fire resistance rating requirement of the walls in the printing hall and laminating hall of Amcor’s facility located at 74 Brandon Street, Christchurch.

WorkSafe has granted an exemption (SEP2301) to Urox Sys Limited from compliance with regulation 11.36(2)(c) (only as it applies the type 3 workroom requirements for: prescribed fire resistance ratings of walls, ceiling, and doors; the compliance of windows with NZS 4232.2:1988; and the requirement for the roller door in the westernmost external wall of the workroom to be self-closing), regulation 11.37(3), and regulation 11.37(4) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to their workroom located at 2 Stonedon Drive, East Tamaki, Auckland.

WorkSafe has granted an exemption (HS2303) to Pan Pac Forest Products Limited from compliance with regulations 12.9(1)(b)(i) and 12.9(1)(b)(ii) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 to accept the reduced separation from incompatible substances between the hydrogen peroxide tank (ID 853231) and the DTPA tank (ID 853241) at 1161 State Highway 2, Wairoa Road, Napier.

WorkSafe has granted an exemption (HS2205) to Todd Petroleum Mining Company Limited from compliance with regulation 17.22(1)(a) of the Health and Safety at Work (Hazardous Substances) Regulations 2017 in relation to the reduced separation distance between stationary tanks containing methanol and a non-flammable corrosion inhibitor at seven wellsites.
