WorkSafe has granted an exemption (#2024-12) to M & O Pacific Limited, trading as Wood Training from compliance with regulation 48 of the Health and Safety in Employment Regulations 1995 in relation to occupational diving located at 26-28 Manadon Street, Spotswood, New Plymouth.
The exemption is granted by WorkSafe in accordance with section 220 of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 on the basis that WorkSafe is satisfied that:
- the extent of the exemption is not broader than is reasonably necessary to address the matters that gave rise to the proposed exemption; and
- the exemption is not inconsistent with the purpose of the Act as there is no significant increase in the risk to health and safety as a consequence of granting this request; and
- this is a situation where there is good reason to grant an exemption under section 220(1).
The exemption comes into effect 1 July 2025 and expires on 1 July 2030 unless it is replaced sooner or revoked.
