Operators of designated upper tier major hazard facilities must conduct a safety assessment.
Operators of designated lower tier major hazard facilities must conduct a safety assessment for the purposes of preparing and implementing the Major Accident Prevention Policy.
We have produced guidance to help an operator of a major hazard facility conduct a safety assessment to understand all the risks to health and safety associated with potential major incidents and explain how those risks are reduced so far as is reasonably practicable.
