PCBU is a broad term used throughout HSWA to describe all types of modern working arrangements, which we commonly refer to as businesses.

What is the primary duty of care?

Under HSWA, a business has the primary responsibility for the health and safety of workers. This is the primary duty of care.

Duties for specific businesses

In addition to the primary duty of care, specific businesses have additional duties in relation to the physical workplace.
