Health monitoring under the Health and Safety at Work Act (General Risk and Workplace Management) Regulations 2016

This fact sheet summarises the health monitoring required under the Health and Safety at Work Act (General Risk and Workplace Management (GRWM)) Regulations 2016.

This fact sheet is for persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs).

Note: This fact sheet only explains the monitoring requirements under the GRWM Regulations 2016. If monitoring is not required under these specific regulations (or any other regulations), businesses still have the overarching primary duty to ensure, so far as is reasonable, the health of workers and the conditions at the workplace are monitored for the purpose of preventing injury or illness of workers arising from the conduct of the business or undertaking.

PLEASE NOTE

On Monday 4 April 2016, the New Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 (HSWA) came into effect.

HSWA repeals the Health and Safety in Employment Act 1992, with immediate effect.

All references to the 1992 Act on this website and within our guidance will be progressively removed.
